Is upgrading from 8GB to 16GB worth it?
16GB RAM is the best place to start PC gaming. While 8GB has been enough for years, new AAA PC games like Cyberpunk 2077 have a RAM requirement of 8GB, although up to 16GB is recommended. Some games, even the newest ones, will actually take advantage of the full 16GB of RAM.
How much does it cost to upgrade from 8GB to 16GB RAM? If you already got it OEM, then both slots will most likely be used. So you’ll need two 8GB DDR3 DIMMs to get to 16GB. This will set you back about $100.
Can I use 2400MHz RAM in 3200MHz motherboard?
If your motherboard doesn’t support RAM faster than 2400MHz, then yes, your 3200MHz RAM will work – at 2400MHz.
Can 3200MHz RAM run on a 2933MHz motherboard? Not. That’s memory overclocking, and that board doesn’t support memory overclocking. The memory will fire in the system, but will not run above 2933MHz, or 2666MHz depending on what CPU is installed.
