Did Mr. Miyagi know any martial arts? When The Karate Kid began production, Ralph Macchio (Daniel), William Zabka (Johnny), and Pat Morita (Mr. Miyagi) knew no martial arts at all. Zabka had some background in wrestling, but that was about it.
